In 2013, I collaborated with Theatre by the Lake in Keswick, Cumbria, to create a number of Young Poet-in-Residence opportunities at the theatre.
Alongside five other Young Poets-in-Residence (Elizabeth Mann, Fiona Money, John North, Phoebe Power & Jenny Walker), I explored and observed the various and varied aspects of the theatre, speaking to members of staff and volunteers from different departments to find inspiration.
The resulting poems were then displayed in the theatre’s cafe during their summer season, and the residency culminated in a rehearsed reading of the poems by members of the theatre’s summer season cast.
The residencies were funded by Arts Council England.
